Review of the Realme 10 Pro plus

Realme has advanced significantly in the past four years, starting with Realme 1 and ending with Realme 10—of which there are three. We have the "Pro+," which, as its name implies, is the best of the bunch, with us. With a AMOLED display that runs at 120 Hz, a 108-megapixel camera equipped with a very capable Dimensity 1080 processor, and last but not least, 5G. The company's top product in the "mid-range" category is the Realme 10 Pro+. But is the Realme 10 Pro+ the greatest product in its class, and should you buy it? In our thorough review, we assist you in making a decision.

Design UP AND BUILD

The Realme 10 Pro+ sports some curves, bucking the trend towards flat, boxy design. Contrary to phones with flat sides, the edges and rear of this device are likewise curved, making it quite comfortable to grip. Additionally, the phone weighs 173 grammes and is 7.8 mm thick.

The firm refers to the colour we have as "HyperSpace Gold" and it glitters and glows in a golden tint. All that glitter, however, is not made of gold; rather, it may be a prism, which is this colour, as it exhibits a prism-like effect in the blue tones on top of all the dazzle. Although the back is plastic rather than glass, it is still a fingerprint magnet, especially in this colour. The phone is also available in Dark Matter and Nebula Blue, a matte-finished shade of black and blue that looks much more subdued.

The Realme 10 Pro+ indeed have a premium appearance, and the curves—which have traditionally been a sign of high-end smartphones costing significantly more—play a significant role in that perception.

AUDIO AND VIDEO

You are undoubtedly already aware that the display is curved on both sides, has an 800 nit brightness AMOLED panel measuring 6.7 inches, and supports HDR10+ playback.

This exhibit is visually pleasing. We watched a lot of television in one sitting and were completely satisfied. Whether you are binge-watching or gaming, the clear, vibrant images and dual speakers make for a great experience.

A curved display increases the chance of the screen accidentally shattering. Despite the Gorilla Glass 4 protection, it is still preferable to be safe by using double-reinforced glass.

PERFORMANCE

The Realme 10 Pro+'s Dimensity 1080 processor, which replaces the Dimensity 920 of the Realme 9 Pro+, is not a significant upgrade. Nevertheless, it is a very capable processor that can handle any work you throw at it. If you are a light user or a gamer, you will therefore be generally happy with the performance.

Otherwise, the software bogs down a good experience. The Realme UI 4.0 has improved over the past several years with a few subtle features that increase functionality, but certain elements remain stupid, such as the bloatware, adverts, and tasteless app recommendations.

This smartphone excels at getting a decent amount of use out of a single charge, which takes less than an hour. The 5000mAh battery may last for roughly two days when used moderately, which includes reading, playing light games, occasionally watching videos, and making plenty of calls.

CAMERA

There are three lenses in addition to the two camera modules: a 108MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP macro.

When you utilise the phone's primary 108MP camera, which uses 9-in-1 pixel binning, you get a 12MP snap every time you take a picture. However, the camera is also capable of 108MP photos.

Regarding the 108MP camera's performance, it takes detailed pictures with a remarkable dynamic range, but occasionally the images come out oversaturated, especially the greens. The camera captures beautiful images at night with evenly balanced highlights and shadows. The absence of OIS, which was available in the Realme 9 Pro+, is one thing that irritates us. Electronic image stabilisation, or EIS, is available, however it is not as effective as optical stabilisation.

The 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro cameras, the other two, unfortunately, cannot share the same benefit. Day or night, the ultrawide still has trouble. Additionally, the macro won't be helpful in any situation.

VERDICT

ith a curved AMOLED display and a light, svelte design, the Realme 10 Pro+ is undoubtedly a treat for narrow eyes. The Dimensity 1080 chip is adequate for running the phone without being a significant improvement. The other two cameras, an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro, fall far short of the 108MP camera's ability to capture fine details. The Realme 10 Pro+, which costs Rs 24,999, is an excellent option for people looking for a 5G-enabled phone with a luxury design, respectable performance, and a respectable camera.
